This template frames Wikidata item IDs (QIDs) for usage inside the |id= parameter in the various {{citation}} and {{cite xxx}} templates, or elsewhere. At present it just allows the QID node to be given in some documented way and links to both the corresponding external resource at Wikidata and the Wikidata article in Wikipedia in order to provide some explanation. It thereby helps to frame the code in some machine readable form and to standardize the appearance.

The template could be expanded to make the given code available as meta-data or to provide some error checking.

The first parameter should be the QID node ID (alternatively given as |qid=.

• Example 1:

• Example 3 (up to 9 parameters - do not use |qid= at the same time):

will result in
